“Ärzte statt Böller” (New Year’s Eve open air concert by the German punk rock band Die Ärzte, literally “Ärzte not Fireworks”) is undisputedly a project highlight. Due to its theme, the fact that it was in Cologne and for us. We and our team undertook the task of assembling and dismantling the equipment for each of the different trades and oversaw the entire logistical operation of the show: the rigging, sound, light, video, stage, site and cloakroom installations were all supported by our crew chiefs. Furthermore, we provided the site crew and site crew coordinator as well as the whole show crew and the follow spot operator.

Because construction went on for over two weeks, we relocated our mobile office to the grounds. At peak times, over 100 members of our team were being coordinated, catered for and deployed in the surrounding stadiums. And at the same time further events were being organised and held – with equal success. The reason for this multi-tasking operation working time and time again can be credited to the dedication of our material planner, the commitment of our crew chiefs and the responsibility of our management.
Yet first and foremost it was thanks to our committed staff who gave their all to ensure that this project could be realised. And all at the same time as the Indoor Venue Season 2006.
Challenges? Yes, there were a few! They came in different forms during the Ärzte concert. The crew will likely never forget the hailstones that rained down on them while they were loading the video trailer at 3 in the morning. But it’s experiences like this that bond a team and show how committed our staff are when it comes to overcoming even the most difficult situations. Together. As a team.

The Brings concert presented us with the challenge that the band had never played in such a big venue before. Because the technical equipment was not designed for a tour but for a single show, each of the trades came from a different provider. Coordinating the personnel was a huge challenge for everyone who took part.
Our contribution to the success of the whole project can be partly put down to the experience we have with stadium shows. But it can also be attributed to our decades of experience in providing specialists for different trades. And this with great impact and in day as well as night shifts for projects with 24/7 shift operations.
31.12.2010 Esprit Arena Düsseldorf.
Live entertainment of a different kind and dimension. In 2009 and 2010, “Sensation White” welcomed 40,000 visitors to the Esprit Arena in Düsseldorf. We provided all the steel hands, over 20 helpers for the decorations, helpers to install the technical equipment for the event, climbers and grounders, and 10 crew chiefs. The focus was on bringing the masses of steel, Layher scaffolding and huge amounts of decorations which had been produced exclusively for the event together. In 2010, Sensation White was one of the most complex and largest events of its genre.

The first major construction site for the newly founded Show-Hire. Because of the fact the production was built into old fortifications, the logistics and the installation of the technical equipment and stage was a special challenge. Furthermore, it was our very first production during which our staff were on site for several consecutive weeks. We provided support for both the site work and stage building.
The challenge we faced here was setting up and taking down the production site in a busy part of the city centre.
Here we were able to draw on the experience we acquired in 2001.
Show-Hire provided helpers, stand and stage builders, as well as personnel to cordon off the route of the marathon. A sporting highlight in an otherwise music laden summer. The music station VIVA for which we provided personnel for one or two productions connected with the station moves to Berlin.
This is a concert we look back on with great satisfaction and pleasure. The legendary Ärzte concert in front of an audience of 45,000 in the sold out Rhein Energie Stadium in Cologne. The director Marc Schütrumpf produced the now renowned documentary of the same name about this very concert.
THE KILLERS & MASSIVE ATTACK were only two of the acts to perform at the Cologne cathedral festival. A festival of this dimension in the heart of the city was a special challenge.
100 years FC St. Pauli. An indescribable feeling. An unforgettable event. The installation crew, the stage builders and the site crew from Show-Hire all came from the picturesque city of Cologne on the banks of the river Rhine. An away game if you will.
We helped install the technical equipment and build the stage at the festival in the Veltins Arena at Schalke.
Steel. A lot of steel. Show Hire provided more than 50 personnel as steel hands, climbers and forklift operators for the Robbie Williams gig during THE HEAVY ENTERTAINMENT TOUR 2017.
Even more steel. Much more steel. Unbelievable quantities of installations, stages. Show-Hire provided significant parts of the crew.
